today i seemed to just flit in and out of other people's existence. no one seemed to really notice the fact that i missed about half the day of lessons. but then again, would drawing so much attention be a good thing? i don't think so. i guess it's still better to be a low-profile person. then again, i don't know if there are actually any people out there who are even remotely concerned about where i am.

never mind, even if no one else cares, i still got Jesus. =)

anyway, my taiwan buddy's presence (i shan't say intrusion) in my life has made me realise how fortunate i am to be an only child. i never really thought much about always having time to be home alone (not punning) and not have anyone else around. having him around has made me finally start to appreciate how blissful solitude (or being alone) was. don't get me wrong, i'm happy he's around, it's just that his presence has made me aware of something i've always taken for granted.

also, i found that actually my buddy and i are quite compatible. as in, the way we behave is rather similar: the quiet, unassuming type [i hear some sniggers and stifled laughter], low-profile, well-dressed (as in no spiking of hair and shirts tucked out) and we both don't look like posers. the last point i am especially happy about. can you imagine me being paired with one of those long hair dudes? well, actually one doesn't need to imagine; just look at some of my fellow schoolmates who got that.

poor kenneth. he says he can't click with his buddy. i sure hope they (or rather he) can work out the 'barriers' between them, or they'll be like forever quiet.

on a completely unrelated and random note, i've heard people say that i look like:

1) a clever/smart person
2) a lame/crappy joker
3) a GEP-er

of the 3, the most incredulous one i find would undoubtedly be 3. but come to think about it, maybe it's not that surprising. i mean, i can sometimes become incredibly cryptic in whatever i say, i can crack jokes which no one but myself understand (and therefore laugh at), and i speak much much more english than chinese outside of home. (ok so maybe most people do that but i mean placing emphasis on speaking proper 'Queen's english' than just good ol' singlish).
