pre-block test thoughts

ok. just a quick post before mum comes in and bans me from using the com. she's watching jewel of the palace dvd for the 3rd time now, it should be at least more than half an hour before she comes in...

ok. here goes.



i sometimes wonder if being part of the nation's so-called "top students" is of benefit at all. i mean, to quit beating around the bush, as much as locals here think that everything here is a paperchase, it really doesn't mean that if: "i don't succeed academically = i won't succeed in life". that's over-simplification of... everything. i mean, i know lots of people who didn't really cut it at school, or maybe should i say, didn't study at the "top schools", as i am studying(i say this by God's grace), and yet they're leading good, comfortable lives.

does doing well in our studies really mean not having to worry about our future? honestly, when one looks at jc students, we don't really have any expertise. compared to the others, like polys and ites, they do learn practical skills. granted, they may not want to fix computers or do business all their lives (or maybe they do), but at the very least, unlike us, if they flunk their "exams", they're still not totally contributing nothing to society. where can jc students work if they fail their a levels? oh, oh, be a full time army man! then what about girls? do they work full time in the army as well?

having said that, i suppose doing well for studies is a must for many university courses like medicine, and law, and... medicine. ok so maybe not a lot, or i just don't know much.

i guess i'm writing this post because i haven't started studying, and i start thinking about the futility of studying. i'm kinda freaked because i've barely started studying, and my friends are almost all done. they don't have to freak out because they haven't started studying. unlike me. although i know that somehow, they'll be worried they still got "this little bit i havent study" or "this question in tys i still dunno how to do" i just don't really care. because, like i said at the start of the post, good results aint everything.
